Hello, hello! Teeth suck, they really do. They're the most high maintenance part of your body. If you don't stay on top of them they'll whine and complain about how sensitive they are and will just hurt until they fall out. It's ridiculous! Did you know the tooth is the only part of your body that doesn't repair itself? It's just plain lazy. Luckily for you, I'm going to share some home remedies that should probably help alleviate the pain.
Tea Bags
Wet a tea bag with warm water and press it against the sore area. This will also help with bleeding gums. Tea has Tannic acid which can be used to numb and clot blood.
Listerine
Swishing a mouthful of Listerine around the sore tooth will relieve the pain temporarily. Listerine is an analgesic, which is a painkiller, how cool is that?
Vanilla Extract
To relieve a toothache it has been recommended that one should wet a cotton ball with vanilla extract and place it over the sore tooth or gums. The high alcohol content should dull the pain.
Salt
Probably one of the best known remedies, salt water. Swishing salt water around the sore area has been known to help with the pain.
Vodka
Like salt water but more fun!
Tabasco Sauce
I would like to take a second to say that I don't recommend this one, it just sounds terrible and I would never try it. Well, probably never.
Tabasco sauce contains an alkaloid called capsaicin, which is known to numb pain when used topically. Placing a dab on a sore area should have the same effect, but it just sounds terrible.
Bonus: Toothpaste!
This is a bonus, because it isn't about toothaches necessarily. Instead it's to help with a loose crown. You can temporarily, remember that, temporarily reglue a crown, by placing a bit of toothpaste on the bottom of the crown and pressing it back into place. After that you may want to visit a dentist, because that crown won't stay there.
There you go dear readers. A handful of handy tips to keep in mind the next time your teeth begin to act up. I hope you remember them, use them, and that they work wonders. I have one more hope for you and your teeth. That you don't put up with their ridiculousness. Being so sensitive and frail, who do they think they are, people? It makes me sick.
